Moms Demand Action Advocacy Day @ the State Capital
Wednesday, March 13, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 2:30 pm
Advocacy Day | March 13, 2019 | 9:30 am – 2:30 pm | State Capital
Join us at the capital to speak to your representative and senator and let them know that you support gun violence prevention laws, and that you would like them to support them, too. The bills in our focus are the criminal background checks bill, and the red flag bill. Training will be provided prior to meeting with your representative. You won’t be alone, because Stacy and Shannon will be attending your meetings with you. Scroll down for full information on this event.

What Is Advocacy Day?
Advocacy Day is a way for you to meet with your state representatives and tell them directly that you care about gun violence prevention and support common sense gun safety measures, like background checks and red flag laws. There will be a rally in the Rotunda of the State Capitol. Featured speakers at the rally will include leaders of our movement, survivors of gun violence, law enforcement officials, state legislators and others who care deeply about keeping our communities safe.
How Does It Work?
NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! We will train you about the common sense legislation we support, the dangerous gun bills we oppose, and how to effectively lobby your legislators. Our volunteers will schedule meetings with your state representative and senator, along with others from your district. We will have volunteer lobby coaches who will help you get where you need to go and guide you throughout the day. Keep in mind that the legislative process is fluid, and schedules can change. Your flexibility is appreciated!
